Description
End of the Road ~ Padraig McCaul.
End of the Road by Padraig McCaul is another simple uncluttered composition that captures the landscape of The Wild Atlantic Way and Achill Island in particular. The light in Achill has a special quality that many artists have recognised. Lying on the Western edge of Europe the Atlantic stretches out on the horizon. The sky is luminous and the rich colours of the landscape compliment that light. The luminescence in this Irish greeting card reflects the beauty of Ireland and it’s coastline.
Irish greeting cards suitable for all occasions.
Padraig McCaul lives and works in the West of Ireland , Kelly Cards have joined with him to publish some of his vibrant Irish landscapes.
McCaul’s paintings take inspiration from the natural landscapes and coastline of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. Achill Island, which is located off Ireland’s western seaboard has a profound influence on his paintings. His paintings echo the natural beauty and colour of the surrounding landscape. End of the Road illustrates the beauty of the light and the empty landscape.
In broad strokes McCaul depicts houses, roads, farm buildings and country lanes in simple, uncluttered compositions. His paintings seek to elicit the emotion that allows room for the viewer to get lost in the subject. They are not just there to describe the landscape but to stir an emotional response to the feeling of the landscape, conveying movement and energy and the light around it.
